Touch of Life is an established organisation, which has successfully operated in the Urban areas of East Staffordshire for seven years.
Being a voluntary group, Touch of Life is totally dependent on a core group of volunteers, donations, grants and fund raising activities to provide an extremely popular activity.
Touch of Life is a multi-cultural Dance Crew that offers street and break dance, classes/workshops for young people between the ages of 5 and 25.
Through the course of a week between 100 and 150 young people attend classes.
Being based in a central location ensures that young people from the most deprived areas are not excluded from taking part.
Classes are currently priced at £2.00 per hour, but on the occasion that a parent/carer cannot afford to pay, Touch of Life will waiver costs if funding allows.
Touch of Life boasts several successes with young people who would have otherwise been expelled from School and who may have turned to crime.
Similarly, young people with learning disabilities are encouraged to join the Dance Crew. they are supported by other members of the class, choreographers and volunteers.
